Web MCP – MCP plugin for AI assistants in JTL-Shop (from version 5.3)

More and more customers shop with an AI assistant at their side. Today that assistant reads your pages the way a person sees them — guessing from text and images, and often getting it wrong. This MCP plugin for JTL-Shop gives it a real interface instead: your shop tells the visitor's browser which tools exist and what they do.

Made for merchants who want their range to be found and described correctly even when it is not a person operating the page, but their assistant.

Key features

13 tools for the assistant: search the catalogue, read product data, resolve variants, walk the categories, view and fill the cart, look up the customer's own orders.
Checkout stays with the human: nothing is ordered and nothing is paid for. The plugin leads to the checkout — your customer walks through it.
You decide what leaves the shop: every tool and every product field can be released individually — SKU, GTIN, manufacturer, description, images, categories, stock.
Writing is off by default: cart changes and order lookups stay disabled until you enable them. Every change is additionally checked against the shop's own session token.
Orders only for the signed-in customer: their own orders only, without address or payment details. A guest gets nothing.
The shop's visibility rules apply: customer groups, category visibility and price display are honoured — an assistant sees nothing the visitor would not see.
Diagnostics page in the backend: see at a glance whether everything is wired up, how many tools are offered, and what to fix when nothing arrives in the browser.

FixedThe full data of a tool response is now returned in structuredContent, as the MCP specification defines it. The field used to be called structured, so standard clients only read the text summary.
FixedThe endpoint reports the actual plugin version in serverInfo instead of 0.1.0.
